The art in the garden is made on the spot and for the spot, by artists from different nations and with different attitudes, but who have all chosen nature as a collaborative partner. Transformation and volatility thus become significant factors. The vast majority have worked with materials obtained from Langeland's nature, but as the catalog shows, TICKON does not rule out experiments with other materials and media in short periods, just as a scientific processing of fauna and flora can be included as an artistic project.
This is the prerequisite for the works which, since 1991 and at the initiative of TICKON, have been created in the historic garden at Tranekær Castle. Some have survived the entire period, some have been added, others have disappeared.
